Racheli Schoenburg, MD
Dr. Racheli Schoenburg is very excited to join the PACE team as Medical Director. She will provide primary care to participants alongside the rest of the PACE team. In her role, she will focus on communication within the team as well as with other medical specialists to make sure participants receive care that best matches their health care goals and needs. She will also provide clinical guidance to the PACE team and work to ensure quality of care for the program.
Dr. Schoenburg attended at Georgetown University School of Medicine. At Georgetown, she was able to explore her passion for promoting health, focusing on social justice and healthcare policy. This led her to the Boston area, where she completed her family medicine residency at Tufts University-Cambridge Health Alliance. During residency, she became even more passionate about working with older adults and pursued a geriatrics fellowship through the Harvard Medical School Multicampus Geriatric Fellowship Program.
Dr. Schoenburg also has clinical interests in integrative medicine, particularly how to integrate mind-body practices into primary care; she completed a 200-hour course through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. She believes in team-based care and the importance of community building in order to nurture strong relationships among staff and participants. As a geriatrician, her focus is on helping her patients maintain function and independence as long as possible.
She grew up in Northern Virginia and is excited to be closer to her family and friends. When she is not working, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and cooking.
